TUI ! Yeah Right

TUI's brand it a bit dated as all the old pubs in New Zealand that are falling to pieces seem to serve Tui, but hey, it a classic. When we first came here we would avoid it, but ...... we like it now. Actually has taste. So we joined the Kiwi Tui tour. Now if you're are thinking this might be, well, crap, it wasn't. We had a really good few hours. Tips however: 1. You can't wear jandals (flip flops) so bring closed shoes. 2. Avoid weekends as apparently bus loads of bogans crawl out of bed. But we know mullets are cool, yeah right !

Napier the Art Deco Capital - Febuary 2011

So another holiday. We are really getting tired of this and need to work more. As Napier was really booked up we had to book a camp site. So we went camping. Er, no. We took the tent but Linda thought an upgrade to a cabin that someone else has cancelled was better as it had an en-suite. Yeah right. So tent in boot of car we go cabin'ing in Napier. You can see them in the background of the first photo. We liked Napier a lot, in fact we may well move there in the future. We are warned that there are no jobs, so Steve wants to move there sooner. Napier was devastated 80 years ago by an earthquake and so it was all rebuilt at the same time making it art deco capital of the world. Now art deco is in fact similar to old persons smelly clothing but it is actually very pleasant. Napier I mean, not old person smelly clothing. They have recently developed an old dock into restaurants and it is actually quite trendy. Steve wants to give up work and move. Oh, and did I say it has vineyards. Now finally we moved into a beech front bach which was cool = last 2 photies. We will do this again !!

Sting at Mission Estate Vineyard, Napier - February 2011

Met up with the Covs for the Sting concert at the mission estate. This was Sting's orchestra tour not his Police tour so it was more classic than pop. Sting was very personable and you would want to have a beer in the bar with him. John actually has. Obviously Steve may have has a pint with him but as he spent a night with David Soul and did not recognise him so Steve would have no idea. Now we enjoyed it a lot, but Mission, oh dear, you sell wine and should not run out of white. Slap yourself. We had to switch to Merlot.

Fruit Farm, Napier, New Zealand - February 2011

Fruit is a major export of New Zealand. So we thought we should go on another tour. The tour is of course very Kiwi. You get a real welcome to my home experience. It is quite incredible the variance of fruit you can produce here. Steve was so impressed he actually ate some. I know. Steve ate something healthy.
