Toilet Tour, Queenstown, New Zealand

Special request from People for more photos of toilets around New Zealand as we have been slacking on this important information.

Firstly, here are the new toilets on the waterfront in Queenstown. Did not go myself but Linda reports they were good. Secondly a personal visit to Josh Emett's Rata toilet. At $18 a glass of wine you needed to see it, basic but did the job.

Cardrona, South Island, New Zealand

Perfect weather today, lifts opened early and clear skies. NZ Winter Games is on so it is pretty crouded today. Free boarders and skiers doing the half pike. Had some more lessons and even a black run (some actually upright).

Cardrona, South Island, New Zealand

Up early to the ski fields. It has snowed over night and is currently blowing a storm. 2 wheel drive cars are having to fit snow chains (as we had to last year) but we rented a 4x4 this years (smart arses) so are warm as!

9am and empty due to wind

Charity Ball Weekend, Wellington, New Zealand

Linda had organised a Charity Ball along with friends for Saturday night and so we had the pleasure of our Aussie friends visiting. During Saturday we went out shopping and IPA tasting. The ball went very well (some snaps to follow). We survived enough to pop over the Rimutaka hills into the Wairarapa as George had been supplying some wines to Australian restaurants and wanted tip recon.

Historic Puketapu, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand

The photos below show some history of where we now live. The first shot shows the current pub but in 70s and off to the right the empty field, which is more or less what we now call our garden but in this shot a field. The bottom photo shows the pub in one of its original versions. It had burnt down a lot of times since!

Still in limbo moving house, so it is good to leave Wellington and get out to a more relaxed atmosphere (obviously our perspective on stress has dumbed down to Wellington being a frantic hub of activity - LOL). I meant to snap more photos but whatever, I remembered as we sat down for lunch so here is a quirky Kiwi cafe for you.
