Our visit to Cairns was somewhat problematic with the airlines. Firstly Air New Zealand lost Linda's bag on the way from Wellington to Sydney, but they found it and it was waiting for us in Cairns. The Virgin Australia lost Viki's bag from Sydney to Cairns. Cocks. This did not re-appear for 1 week and Quantas ended up finding it. Virgin were somewhat at a loss with regards to customer service, which they will received some feedback on from Viki. So our visit to Cairns became more of a shopping trip than we had planned. Now luckily for Steve this became an excuse for him to buy a new underwater camera (unrelated to lost bag, it was just needed). Must make a mension to some of the sights in Cairns. The bats roost away from town and then return on mass at dust. I mean on mass. Hundreds of then flying over head in formation. Magnificent. We did like Cairns so at least they made up for the bag loss.
