Winter Update, New Zealand

We started to move house in July, a dragged out affair because in New Zealand when you agree a contract it is binding, but our buyers wanted a long settlement so we have drawn out moving to our new house. Anyway, started shifting plants and things as only a month to go. Winter has been pretty good this year, particularly since Hawkes Bay is really temperate. The sunny days continue, although rudely interrupted by rain (and more rain). Our ponds are full up and the stream flowing fast as. At least the ruddy duck weed is washing down to be someone else's problem.

Winter in Hawkes Bay - Really ??

Oh bugger, our pond is a bit full !

Tea time, Puketapu Pub, Puketapu, New Zealand

So, we now live in Hawkes Bay, well at the weekend anyway, and .... we thought we would show you the pub that is within  a short stroll.

Now don't expect anything special, well anything advanced anyway. This is a traditional New Zealand pub where 1970s fluorescent tube lighting is a major pull.

You can wear your wellies in the sunshine or shorts in the winter and no one casts an eye.

It is classic. Absorb it. We enjoy most excellently.
